Delta Tau Delta, Alpha Chapter
Recruitment

1232685549_biophotos_294045_phDelta Tau Delta is a value driven organization, and we strive to make all of our decisions based on our mission and guiding principles of truth, courage, faith, and power.  We wear our letters with pride, and strive as to achieve a life of excellence.  Our members are accountable, maintain integrity and are driven by profound moral values.  Building a fraternity around these values sets forth the expectations for how the fraternity's members will run and behavior both on and off campus.  Bringing these values into our Brotherhood allow for personal and organizational accountability, as well as overall excellence.

Join the ranks of thousands of Delts.  Over 143,000 men have been initiated into Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, and these men have become successful doctors, lawyers, teachers, athletes, musicians, senators, businessmen, fathers, grandfathers, mentors, advisors, etc.  The bonds of brotherhood formed during the time that you are a part of the Chapter are ones that will last forever.  Our undergraduate members are encouraged and motivated to take advantage of the leadership opportunities presented to run the Chapter.  You will learn how to run a successful organization, from managing meetings, money, and internal events, to running campus wide social events.

Our chapter, Alpha Chapter, is one of the top Chapters of Delta Tau Delta in the nation and holds a very important place in our great Fraternity's history.  We are looking for men who seek a life of excellence and strive to be the best among their peers.  We seek individuals demonstrating leadership potential, academic excellence, and moral values that embody our own.  I would encourage men that are interested to contact me.  Our new members will not be hazed, as we do not support hazing in any shape or form. All of our new members are treated with respect during their pledge period.  Our pledge period is a fun 8 week program designed to help our new members learn our history, both Alpha Chapter's and the Fraternity's, build bonds with each other and our current members, and getting involved in our brotherhood.

An Inside Look: Philip Anthony

1233528209_biophotos_479173_phI came to Allegheny College twice as a prospective student and stayed at the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house both times.  I was both a little apprehensive and very excited about staying at the house.  Fraternity life has many stigmas attached to it, and I was not quite sure what to expect during my nights there.  Both of my hosts, John Mark Swafford and Brandon Tirpak, were great hosts.  I asked them many questions regarding the Fraternity and the more I learned about the fraternity, the more I became determined to someday make my best effort to join Delta Tau Delta and become a brother myself.  The friendly and inviting atmosphere of the brothers and their efforts to make me feel at home at Allegheny was what made me really want to join this fraternity.

While I was in high school, I did not have many male friends because I am gay.  As a result, I found myself secluded to only hanging out with girls.  When I came to Allegheny, the Delts accepted me and remembered me from my stays as a prospective student, which was nice.  This fraternity respects all people for who they are, instead of segregating people who are different.

As a new pledge, I look forward to helping the fraternity move forward by being both an active brother and an active student on my college campus.  Simply put, being a pledge of Delta Tau Delta makes me happy.  I feel quite fortunate to be able to join this outstanding fraternity and become one of the brothers of Delta Tau Delta.
