From February 19th to the 21st, 11 Delts, including two members currently pledging, hopped in three separate cars to drive three hours to the Penn Stater Conference Hotel for the DTD Eastern Division Conference. Some of us took a lengthy detour into Cranberry, where apparently the greatest Burger King in the world is located, but us others spent the evening at the initial banquet, making our speech, and mingling with Delts across the East Coast. The first banquet set the stage for the rest of the weekend. It was classy, enjoyable, and brotherly.
We spent the days in breakout sessions and conference banquets, where business was handled and presentations were made. We also spent the evenings going out to dinner, the creamery, and crashing in the hotel room. Any 30 minute break was utilized for naps, and any opportunity to eat was taken as an opportunity to feast. The food was great and Larry Altenburg was re-elected as the Division President.
As an overall experience, the Alpha Delts left Penn State more motivated and confident in ourselves and the organization. We all donated to the Crescent Society, and went to numerous breakout sessions that described DTD as an image, as a principled organization, and as a successful organization.
We also were brought closer to each other through the late-night hotel talks, dinners and the creamery.
DTD Eastern Division Conference was a great experience for me and the 11 guys that went. We returned to the Alpha Shelter more motivated and excited members of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. We are inspired members looking forward to the future.
